WHAT IS LIFE DRAWING?

Life drawing - drawings made from the living naked human form - can be an important way for anyone with an artistic impulse to exercise and develop their skills – I’ve always likened it to the artistic equivalent of going to the gym. It’s also really fun.

THE CLASS

We’ll most likely start with some quicker poses to get everyone warmed up, then try some longer poses so you have some time to explore in more depth, with a break half way through the session to share and assess our efforts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

All you really need to get going is some paper and a pencil or two - it really can be as simple as that - and there’s much to be said for the simplicity of that. However, the world is your oyster - so you may want to consider charcoal, crayons, pastels - or something weird and wonderful if you’re up for some experimentation - whatever takes your fancy.

If you are thinking of getting really extravagant - ie something that might make a mess - please do remember to bring a dust sheet, as we need to take care of the hall. You may also want something to lean on - boards are great - or easels if that’s your thing - though a sturdy sketch book will do just fine in a pinch.

If you would like to book a place - or have any questions - please do feel free to drop us a line at matthew.burden@network.rca.ac.uk

Woolf Tracks Fitness Classes - cancelled until further notice

Join us for a great workout at the hall on Sunday mornings led by Lorraine Bennetts.

All workouts are adaptable to ability and fitness levels and you can work at a pace that suits you. £5 per session.

Please call Lorraine on 07398 182 511 to check availability.

Woolf Tracks Fitness came about three years ago with the aim to provide local people with the opportunity to participate in workouts but without the commitment of joining a regular gym.

I run two sessions a week:

Sundays 9.30am, Sutton Village Hall

Wednesdays 7.30pm, Wrestlingworth Memorial Hall

Sessions can vary from a circuit format to a full workout that lasts 25 to 30 minutes, 20 minute challenge and don’t forget exercise bingo! No two sessions will be exactly the same.

A message from Lorraine

Hello there, my name is Lorraine Bennetts and I am passionate about keeping healthy and being active. My chosen sport is running and obstacle course racing.  I completed the Virgin London Marathon in 2017 and numerous obstacle course races including gaining a Spartan trifecta for the last two years respectively.

As a working mother of four young boys I understand that keeping fit can be hard to squeeze in but I hope by providing varied and interesting classes my clients are encouraged to return and follow their own fitness journeys.

All workouts are adaptable to ability and fitness levels and you can work at a pace that suits you.  The competition is with yourself to be the best version of you, not against other people!

Whatever your fitness goal, I am happy to support.  I look forward to meeting you at one of my classes.
